June 19th, 2010, Saturday - Medieval MidSummer Fayre. This is a NEW, one day Medieval faire to be held in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin.The former creators of the old Camelot Faire Lloyd and Lisa Clarke. are back and putting together a new faire for 2010 featuring a joust, demos, vendor goods, food and drink, as well as other characters around the shire. June 26/27 & July 3/4, 2010 Saturday & Sunday - Door County Renaissance Fantasy Faire. This is a new two weekend faire, located in beautiful Door County, Wisconsin, just past Green Bay between Sturgeon Bay and Egg Harbor in the peninsula. I will also be performing there in the royal court of Queen Catherine & King Edward. "Prepare to step back in time to the festival atmosphere of a charming Olde World Harvest Festival and country market day in Renaissance Europe. For all who long for childhood days of make-believe and enchantment, a time of gallant knights, fair ladies & fairies, brazen wenches & damsels in distress, wizards and dragons, merry men & minstrels, gypsies & royalty, we invite you to join us in the lush, tree-filled shire." July 11, 17/18, 25, 31, August 1, 8, 14/15 & 22, 2010, Saturday/Sunday - Bristol Renaissance Faire. Time to don your period garb and hit the faire for 2010. Come start the seasons merriment with all your friends, make new ones, catch the shows, and eat and drink to your hearts content. The faire runs from 10:00am to 7:00pm rain or shine. August 28/29, 2010, Saturday & Sunday - Illinois Renaissance Faire. This is a one weekend faire located in Danville, Illinois. I will be performing here with the Royal Court. The year is 1545 and the time of King Henry VIII in Tudor England. The Festival will offer a variety of entertainment, such as comedy shows, magic acts, jugglers, Samurai demonstrations, and a living history area to mention a few. The village will provide an atmosphere of olde world experience with merchants selling their handmade wares, exotic foods to taste, impromptu performances, dancing and costumed entertainers performing all day long. The faire opens 11:00am to 6:30pm in Ellsworth Park in Danville. Tickets are $8.00 for adults (16+) and $6.00 for seniors and children 5 to 15 years of age. September 26th, 2010, Sunday - Michigan Renaissance Faire. It is always a great time when getting together here. This faire is filled with food, drink, and super entertainment. There are also many vendors to buy from through winding streets. It has been a favorite of mine for many years. It has so much to offer. And, it is one of the faires that Owain Phyfe happens to be at singing his wonderful songs. Faire opens 10:00am to 7:00pm in the town of Holly. Tickets are $19.95 for adults and $10.95 for children 5 to 12 years of age. Students and seniors are $17.95. The atmosphere is electric at this faire. September 4/5/6, 11/12 & 18/19 2010, Saturday & Sundays including Monday Labor Day - Des Moines Renaissance Faire. This is a great event that runs for three weekends in September. I shall be performing with the court here during this time. Faire opens 10:00am to 6:00pm. It is located at Sleepy Hollow Sports Park just east of the Iowa State Fairground in Des Moines. Food, drink, entertainment and atmosphere are great. Many vendors to buy from through this village of permanent buildings. October 2/3, 2010 - Fishers Renaissance Faire. Come to the town of Billericay as they prepare for Queen Elizabeths arrival where there will be much merriment including a joust, magicians, comedy, combatants, music, artisans, food and much more. And, some of the Queen’s favorite tales have returned to life including Robin Hood and his men, King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table, and the magic of the wizard Merlin, as well as
their various evil counterparts including Sir Guy of Gisborne, the misunderstood Tax Collector, Morgan Le Fay and Mordred. It is also a place where I go to meet my good brothers at arms, the Knights Templars and Hospitallers. The faire opens 10:00am to 6:00pm in the town of Fishers, Indiana. October 9/10, 2010 - Ohio Renaissance Faire. It is always a fun time going here. This place is loaded with everything you want in a Renaissance faire and more. The people are fantastic and atmosphere great. I love going here each year. Faire opens 10:30am to 6:00pm in the town of Harveysburg. Tickets are $19.99 for adults and $9.99 for children 5 to 12 years of age. Parking is $3.00 a car. This is a great time and the food, drink and entertainment are super. February 2011 To Come, Sunday - The Traditional Robert Burns Supper. This is a Scottish event which is a tradition throughout the world. It has piping, speeches, poems, drink and of course a full dinner featuring Haggis. It is held at Klemmer's, 10401 West Oklahoma Avenue, West Allis, WI. April, 2011, Saturday - Sunday (Tenative depending on work) - Ashville Viking Festival, Ohio. It's that time again, to pillage the town of Ashville for Viking Festival 2010. This festival is great with Viking games, merchandise, encampments, historical reenactments, music and more. It is a smaller event, but has grown over the years to become one of the premiere viking gatherings. So, if you are a viking and are looking for great deals or a great time, this is for you. The event opens each day at 10am and closes at 5pm. Admission: They are asking that you bring a food item to be donated to the Ashville Food Pantry. Entry Donations will be accepted to help cover costs. There are hotels in the area as well. The Village of Ashville (located 30 minutes South of Downtown Columbus, Ohio) has volunteered the use of the Village Park for the location of a gathering of various Historic/Living History groups from throughout the area. The primary time being depicted will be 10th century Viking, but for educational purposes, other time periods may be represented. So, come on down and enjoy the event. May, 2011, Saturday - Sunday - Dubuque Renaissance Faire. This is a great one weekend event in the heart of Iowa, and is a big fund raiser for the Dubuque Museum of Arts. I will be performing at this event. The year is around 1550. Come and meet Queen Catherine and King Edward along with the royal court, as they stroll about the shire. See the womens Renaissance Fashion Show, listen to the mens weapons talk and learn about weapons of the period or join in the Renaissance dancing. There is also a childrens knighting and lady in waiting ceremony. And, there are a good number of vendors and great entertainment. And, this year there will be the first JOUST featuring the knights of "Joust Evolution"!! This is a smaller event, but is always fun and has the charm of any big one. Cost of Admission is $8 for adults, $5 for senior and students, children 5 and under are free. There is also a 2 day adult ticket of $12.00. Tickets are $2.00 less if you are a YMCA member. May, 2011, Memorial Day Weekend, Saturday - Monday - Mayfaire Renaissance Faire. It's that time to hop in the carriages and make the journey over to Marshall, Michigan. This is a great little two weekend event with most set into the woods. It has all the charm and friendliness you would expect. Good number of great vendors, good food and fun entertainment. Cost of Admission is $10 for 12yrs to adult, $5 for children 5 to 11yrs and 5 and under are free. There is also a $1.00 off discount for all Veterans on Memorial day with proper military ID. I plan in going for the day and checking it out. The faire opens from 10:00am to 6:00pm. Tickets are $15.00 for adults and $5.00 for children 5 to 12 years of age. Seniors 65+ are $13.00.
